You will be a senior hands-on member of the Infrastructure team, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to guide engineering decisions, establish technical standards and support the development of engineers within the team.
You will work closely with Infrastructure Engineers, architects, technical leadership and other technology teams to shape the evolution of our infrastructure platforms, ensuring that solutions are designed with operational excellence, automation, standardisation and long-term sustainability in mind.

- Act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.
- Define and promote engineering standards, best practices and reusable technical patterns across the team.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation and standardisation to improve efficiency, consistency and scalability.
- Drive improvements in infrastructure reliability, resiliency, availability and performance.
- Identify and help address technical debt and infrastructure lifecycle risks, supporting platform modernisation.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to Infrastructure Engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous development.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure solutions align with architecture, security and engineering standards.
- Contribute to the Infrastructure technical roadmap and evaluate opportunities for modernisation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the Infrastructure team on-call roster.
What You Bring
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role within an infrastructure or operations team.
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including on-premises solutions, physical servers, network equipment, and storage solutions.
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably with AWS
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead to the resolution of complex technical issues.
- Hold certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, Linux LPIC/RHCSA/RHCE, CKA, CKAD, CKS, and VMware VCP-DCV are highly desirable.
- Understanding of infrastructure monitoring, observability, performance and capacity management.
- Strong understanding of KPIs and SLAs.
- Ability to establish technical standards and influence engineering decisions across teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration and technical mentoring skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
